Southern Evangelism Conference

What a weekend at SEC! Great speakers, great singing, and record-setting attendance - we brought 26 (more than double last year's group, and one of the largest groups there), and there were 824 brothers and sisters in the Sunday session.

PYG Winter Retreat 2009

The Amazing Race (1 Corinthians 9:24) was our theme. We had such a great time. We went to Ponderosa Bible Camp in Mentone, AL. We took 38 teenagers & 16 adults, for a grand total of 54. Curtis Moorer says this is the largest crowd we have ever taken to a Winter Retreat. This was our 12th year having a Winter Retreat. Our teens participated in five different Challenge Stations (Worship, Fellowship/Unity, Prayer, Holiness and Evangelism. At each station they completed different challenges. On Sunday afternoon we had a debriefing excercise where we talked about what all of these things meant. Our teens really came together during this retreat, and I am excited to see the results as life gets back to normal.

On Saturday night we had the Amazing Relay Race where each team was to compete in a series of relay events. One of the events was to arm-wrestle and beat the amazing "Crusty Rusty" Adair (as the teens refer to him). Eventually all teams won, but only one of the teams was able to succeed on the first try. The victor of this competition has the strength of a lion, and the bite of...well, she's too sweet to bite. Julie Adkins was the only one who could take down Rusty on the first try!

We are really looking forward to the 2010 Winter Retreat, which will be February 12-15, 2010. So mark on your calendars the date. We will again be at Ponderosa Bible Camp in Mentone, AL. We want to make i
t even bigger and better!

And if you want to see the pride and joy of our youth ministry, watch the video that some of our teens were so precious to take...

The New PYG Blog!

Hey PYG family! I have created a new blog for our Youth Ministry. Please check it on a weekly basis because I will be posting calendars, details about events, pictures and summaries from events when we return, and if we need some help for some events. Who knows...I may even get in the writing mood and put some articles on the blog. We also have a group page on Facebook, but for those of you who don't have one of those accounts, this will be an easy way for you to stay updated on what's going on. Also, I will update this probably more than I do facebook since I know more people can view it.

So add this page to your BOOKMARKS so you can come to it easily and often.

Also, feel free to leave comments about certain posts because it will let me know that you are actively viewing it.

Yours in Christ,
Eric Gray
